Geneva will be increasing its financial contribution in aid of the Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent that is located in the international sector of Geneva. In 2002, Geneva will be contributing over half a million Swiss francs to the upkeep of this unique museum while Switzerland as a whole will be contributing nearly an additional million Swiss francs a year.

Geneva and Switzerland are the two most important contributors to the Museum’s budget. Spokespeople said ‘This source of humanitarian ideals is worthy of increased support by the authorities. The Museum represents the commitment of Switzerland to humanitarian works.’
