Ion Iliescu visited the biotech company established in Meyrin. Through this visit he expressed his willingness to develop scientific research and its concrete technological applications. The choice of GeneProt for this visit is, in this sense, no coincidence.
This 4 years old start-up company is actually the one and only world lab specialized in the proteomic research: the identification, selection and synthesis of certain human proteins in order to perform "high-tech" therapeutics. GeneProt is projecting to make openings in such fields as Alzheimer disease or multiple sclerosis. It is at the moment employing 55 people and is working under contracts with world leading life sciences firms such as Serono or Novartis.
