Geneva ranks third in the world for the number of annual congresses, meetings and trade fairs it hosts as companies and organisations are drawn to the city’s ideal location, safe environment, Swiss quality and reliability, top-class facilities and superb social, cultural and leisure opportunities.

According to the Tribune de Genève, Enrico Zuffi of Geneva Tourism Office says that there are some 250 congresses and key events for 300 to 15 000 participants in Geneva each year. This is a trend that is seen as continuing with a number of important gatherings planned through to 2005. Hotel capacity is being expanded to meet this growing and important development.
